Eames Institute Headquarters Workplace, Richmond, CA
Surgical and transformative adaptive re-use of a Jim Jennings 1990’s 25,000sf warehouse building previously used for medical device manufacturing for the Eames Institute’s first headquarters. The first floor makes use of the double-height space for the Collection Center’s visible storage and back of house functions, while the former manufacturing clean room becomes the workspace for the Collections team and the most sensitive artifacts. Overlooking the Collection Center, the second level hosts the workspace with varied and collaborative, creative environments.
